🎉 Celebrations at Dr. Abdul Kalam School

At Dr. Abdul Kalam School, we celebrate learning beyond the classroom through a wide spectrum of festivals and events. Each year, we organize cultural, patriotic, and community celebrations that foster values, traditions, and emotional connections. These experiences help students develop a sense of belonging, gratitude, and respect for diversity, making them more holistic individuals.

✨ Highlights from Academic Year 2024–25

The academic year 2024–25 was filled with vibrant and meaningful celebrations. Our students, teachers, and parents enthusiastically came together to make each occasion special, joyful, and full of learning.

🟥 Color Day Celebrations (Pre-Primary)
Our youngest learners celebrated Color Days like Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and more. Children dressed in the color of the day and explored through themed activities such as object sorting, art, rhymes, and role play, enhancing their sensory learning in a cheerful environment.
🪔 Diwali
On October 30, the campus lit up with diyas and lanterns made by students. Skits on Diwali traditions and awareness talks on safe celebrations made it both festive and informative.
🕉️ Ganesh Chaturthi
On September 6, an eco-friendly Ganesha idol was installed by students. Activities included devotional songs, story sessions, and a symbolic immersion ceremony that instilled reverence for tradition and nature.
🌾 Sankranti
On January 10, students arrived in traditional attire for a cultural program featuring kite flying, bhogi bonfire simulations, and folk dances. The celebration honored farmers and harvest traditions.
🇮🇳 Independence Day
Celebrated on August 15, the event began with flag hoisting followed by spirited cultural performances. Patriotic songs, speeches, and group dances reflected India’s journey and inspired a strong sense of national pride.
🧑‍🏫 Teachers’ Day
On September 5, students took charge of classes in honor of their teachers. Heartfelt messages, handmade cards, and stage performances filled the day with appreciation and gratitude.
🎄 Christmas
Celebrated on December 24, students decked the Christmas tree and enjoyed the festivities.
🎂 Dr. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday
On October 15, we celebrated the birthday of our school’s namesake, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, with special assemblies, science-themed activities, essay writing, and inspirational videos. Students reflected on his values of humility, perseverance, and vision, reinforcing the ideals our school stands for.
👴👵 Grandparents Day
Observed on September 10, Grandparents were invited to school for a day filled with love and laughter. Children honored them with performances, card-making, and fun games, strengthening emotional bonds across generations.
🎨 Sri Krishna Janmashtami
Held on August 24, the event saw children dressed as Radha and Krishna. Dahi Handi, bhajans, and short skits on Lord Krishna’s life filled the day with joy and divine celebration.
🔥 Dasara
On October 10 students performed skits and dances based on the Ramayana. The celebration emphasized moral values and the victory of good over evil through vibrant storytelling.
🇮🇳 Republic Day
On January 26, we celebrated India’s Constitution with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a thoughtful cultural program including speeches, patriotic songs, and tableau presentations by students.
